Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a long-term substitute in the Cyber Security department at Orange County High. This full-time position is ideal for someone passionate about educating students in the critical field of cyber security. The successful candidate will engage students in learning about cyber threats, safe online practices, and the importance of information security in today’s digital world.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the state curriculum for cyber security education.
• Teach students about various aspects of cyber security, including network security, data protection, and ethical hacking.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate cyber security topics into other subjects and promote interdisciplinary learning.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in cyber security to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and effective.
• Assist in organizing workshops, guest speakers, and extracurricular activities related to cyber security.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge in cyber security.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Education, or a related field.
• Previous teaching experience or experience in training and mentoring students is preferred.
• Strong understanding of cyber security principles, practices, and current trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students effectively.
• Ability to create a positive and productive learning environment.
• Familiarity with educational technology and online teaching tools.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current in the field of cyber security.
• Teaching certification or licensure in the relevant subject area is a plus.
