REPORTS TO: Supervisors of Instruction
GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK:
The Coordinator of STEM is responsible for coordinating the development, delivery, implementation and monitoring of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) curriculum, instruction, and projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS:
- Coordinate, develop, implement, and monitor STEM curriculum, instruction, initiatives, and educational programs
- Collaborate with local community organizations and businesses to provide enhanced, experiential learning opportunities for all students
- Coordinate with school staff to facilitate student participation in various STEM events including local, regional, and state student competitions, camps, college field trips, and business and industry collaborations
- Model and promote innovative instructional practices
- Promote interdisciplinary STEM related activities and project-based learning, PK-12
- Assist in professional development for teachers in STEM topics to include: Science instruction, PBL (Project Based Learning), STEM literacy and best practices, 21st century competencies, STEM workforce readiness , and computer science standards
- Assist in the development of STEM curriculum aligned with career pathways that ensure integration of academic and career technical education with 21st century skills
- Assist in recommendations for instructional material, media and equipment for the classroom including research-based innovations, hardware, software, and current industry-standards-based equipment
- Oversee the district Environmental Literacy Plan and Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE)
- Ensure compliance with science safety requirements and protocols
- Analyze instructional and assessment data to inform program decisions and continuous improvement
- Assist with state reporting, accreditation requirements, textbooks adoption processes, and curriculum reviews
- Manage STEM-related budgets, materials, and resource allocation
- Coordinate the procurement and maintenance of STEM equipment, technology, and instructional materials
- Assist with the application and selection processes for special programs
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Other Duties as Assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of Five Years of Successful Teaching Experience
- Experience Teaching STEM Curriculum
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Master’s Degree Preferred
- Administrative Experience Preferred
