Orange County Utilities provides water resources and solid waste recovery services to protect and enrich the lives of the citizens and guests of Orange County Florida. The Water Division ensures a safe and reliable water supply for all of Orange County Utilities¿ customers, and we operate three regional water supply facilities and nine satellite water supply facilities that collectively produce approximately 60 million gallons per day.
The Water Division is seeking a highly qualified Utilities Maintenance Coordinator. This position will be responsible for coordination and assistance of Electrical Maintenance activities performed by Orange County personnel and outside contractors at various water treatment plant sites to include all related equipment, grounds and buildings. Supervision of junior maintenance staff and temps Related to drinking water treatment facilities.

Based on area of assignment, may be required to possess and maintain the appropriate certification or license.

Below is the list of potential duties. The specific responsibilities will depend on the area of assignment and may only include some of those listed.
- Supervise daily work of industrial electricians across water treatment facilities
- Conduct field inspections to verify quality, safety, and compliance of electrical work performed
- Review completed work orders, documentation, and electrical reports for accuracy and completeness
- Plan, schedule, and assign electrical maintenance and project tasks to field staff
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and mentorship to electricians and technicians
- Ensure all electrical work meets NEC, NFPA 70E, utility standards, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, and contractors on maintenance activities and capital projects
- Oversee and/or perform installation, maintenance, and repair of switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and power distribution systems
- Support troubleshooting and repair of motors, pumps, and other industrial equipment
- Oversee calibration, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation, analyzers, and process control devices
- Review and support PLC logic changes, VFD programming, and SCADA system updates
- Respond to escalated electrical issues, alarms, and emergency breakdowns
- Maintain accurate records, drawings, and maintenance logs

Preferences
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license
- Knowledge of Maximo and experience in the operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities.
- Preforming training, reading blueprints, specifications and technical materials.
- Significant experience with maintenance operations at industrial facilities.
- Experience with Maximo, Outlook, Microsoft Word
- Industrial electrical experience: water/wastewater experience preferred
- Prior leadership, crew lead, or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, codes, and safety practices
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, SCADA, and instrumentation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and control diagrams
- Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills
- Ability to work in both office and field environments
- Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and outdoor conditions
