Orange County Utilities provides water resources and solid waste recovery services to protect and enrich the lives of the citizens and guests of Orange County Florida. The Water Division ensures a safe and reliable water supply for all of Orange County Utilities¿ customers. The Water Division operates four regional water supply facilities and nine satellite water supply facilities that collectively produce approximately 60 million gallons per day.

Water Division is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of "SCADA Technician".

Job Description

General Functions

This position is responsible for programming, installing, and maintenance of all equipment used for the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. Work requires independent judgment and is performed under the general supervision of the SCADA Administrator. This position requires long periods of computer screen time. Work is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports, and results achieved.

Representative Duties/Assignments

• Programs PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers).
• Troubleshoots software problems with the SCADA system.
• Programs and troubleshoots HMI (Human-Machine-Interface) software.
• Troubleshoots hardware on the SCADA system.
• Troubleshoots computer software and hardware servers and workstations.
• Configures Network equipment such as Industrial Fiber Network Switches
• Builds and analyses trends for troubleshooting.
• Configures automated reports and other software related to SCADA.
• Assists with purchase orders and work orders.
• Performs other related duties as required.
  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

Requires an Associate's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or Electronics Technology or equivalent electronics technical school and four (4) years combination of experience in the following areas: PLC programming, Radio systems, computer usage, instrumentation, electrical or HMI SCADA systems. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted for the education.

Must possess a State of Florida Class (E) Driver's License

Preferences

Knowledge of SCADA systems including Fiber optics; PLC's; radios and data and transmission; instrumentation loops, VBA, C or similar computer programming language programming; and a computerized maintenance management system/MAXIMO

Pay Grade: 017 - From $29.06 to $37.76
