What are the responsibilities and job description for the AM Cook-Hospital position at Orange City Area Health System?
Description: The Cook prepares meals for patients, staff, visitors, and for special events/meetings. The Cook will do food preparation in the kitchen and/or cafeteria grill area. As the AM Cook she/he prepares grill items and does food preparation for the next day. The Cook serves customers and is involved in clean up.
Number of Hours: Full-time: 32 - 37.5 hours/week.
Schedule: Varies throughout the week and includes every other weekend and holiday. 5 shifts one week; 4 shifts the following week. Shifts are: 5:15am – 1:15pm, 6:00am – 2:00pm, and 11:00am – 7:00pm.
Educational Requirements: High school diploma desired. He/she must take a modified diet and sanitation course provided through the dietary department.
Other: The applicant must have good interpersonal skills, be willing to fill in as needed and be a team player. He/she must be able to work independently and make sound decisions. He/she must be well organized and able to follow directions. Cooking experience a plus.
