POSITION: Communications and Marketing Assistantship
DEPARTMENT: Communications & Marketing
REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Communications
STATUS: Temporary Full-Time (July 2025 – February 2026), Non-Exempt, Onsite
SUMMARY: This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in a career in communications, media relations and/or marketing. This position is responsible for supporting the communications and marketing department with duties related to the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship Game and Host Committee local events.
Salary: $2430 monthly /Duration: 6.5 months /Tentative start date: July 2025
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate on the development of marketing strategies to increase overall brand awareness of the 2026 CFPNCG Host Committee and its events and programs.
- Collaborate on a social media calendar and posting schedule for the 2026 CFPNCG Host Committee.
- Proactively monitor accounts and assist with engaging fans and other key stakeholders via all social media platforms.
- Attend 2026 CFPNCG Host Committee events and post on social media in live time.
- Support all external communications concerning 2026 CFPNCG Host Committee programming and events.
- Assist with monthly content input for 2026 CFPNCG Host Committee Newsletter.
- Monitor College Football Playoff, other bowls, college and professional sports social media accounts and websites for new features/ideas.
- Assist with creation of graphics and video content for emails, social media and website.
- Stay on top of website updates to ensure that the website is consistently accurate at all times.
- Create photo galleries from all 2026 CFPNCG Host Committee events and publish in a timely manner.
- Assist with the implementation of the Host Committee and CFP Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers initiatives in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach county schools.
- Communicate effectively with CFP Foundation staff, Host Committee staff, school district staff, vendors and other key stakeholders as necessary.
- Organize and track schedule and RSVPs for each middle school innovation space ribbon cutting.
- Provide advance planning and on-site logistical support for all CFP Foundation events prior to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, including all middle school innovation space ribbon cuttings as needed
- Assist with the logistics and operation of local Host Committee events throughout 2025-26, including but not limited to: golf tournaments, kickoff luncheons, ribbon cuttings, community events and celebrations
- Assist with the logistics and operation of Host Committee events during Championship Week (January 2026) including but not limited to women’s luncheon, VIP party, private concert, media party and pregame party.
- Participate in Host Committee Administrative planning meetings.
- Participate in and assist with organizing meetings and other activities for monthly CFP site visits and all CFP Foundation visits.
- Request purchase orders for purchases and services.
- Provide support to all Host Committee staff as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and research matters.
- Assistance on special projects as assigned by the Senior Director, Communications, Chief Operating Officer, and Director, Administration.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Senior Director, Communications, Chief Operating Officer, and Director, Administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Possesses functional knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
- Experience managing multiple social media platforms a plus.
- Experience with website content management systems (CMS) a plus.
- Motivated, highly organized, and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and writing skills.
- Experience with graphic design in Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience with social media advertising and content scheduling software a plus.
- Experience with video editing in Adobe Premiere a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and research matters.
- Ability to work nights and weekends when applicable.
- Must be willing to travel locally to community events, production meetings and other 2026 CFPNCG Host Committee events.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
