Primary Role:
Oversee the accounting function of the company, ensuring accurate financial records, reconciliations, and timely month-end closings. Responsibilities include providing this service to multiple trucking companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily financial transactions and general ledger entries for multiple trucking companies.
- Reconcile bank statements and other accounts.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings.
- Prepare financial reports for management.
- Calculate driver payments based on pay structure.
- Process reimbursements for tolls, lumper fees, detention, etc.
- Deduct advances, fuel card usage, or chargebacks.
- Issue driver payments (direct deposit, or checks).
- Maintain vendor payment records.
Skills & Requirements:
- Trucking/transportation field experience required.
- Accounting or finance degree / certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, etc.).
- Payroll/accounting experience.
- Accuracy in calculations.
- Confidentiality and professionalism.
