Food Service Assistant or Substitute
Job Title: Food Service Assistant or Substitute
Department: Food Service
Reports To: Food Service Director
SUMMARY: Works under the supervision of the Food Services Director to provide meal services to students and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the preparation of food according to the assigned menu.
- Assist in the portioning and packaging meals for transport to the Oracle Ridge School.
- Use safe food handling techniques.
- Pay attention to proper food temperatures.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety in the kitchen.
- Follow established cleaning schedule.
- Use kitchen equipment in a safe, proper and efficient manner.
- Assist in serving meals, paying close attention to portion control.
- Assist in the proper storage or disposal of leftover food.
- Observe the stock rotation policy.
- Record commodity usage.
- Report any accident/injury or problem with equipment to the Food Services Director immediately.
- Attend and participate in inservice programs and additional training as implemented by the Food Service Director.
- Safely push and or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrate satisfactory work habits and attitudes.
- Follow district policies and procedures as adopted by the Governing Board.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Dependability
SCOPE AND SALARY:
195 day position as an at-will employee based on the support staff salary schedule, with holidays and benefits according to district policy.
EVALUATION:
Designated administrator with assistance of the Food Services Director.
Salary : $15 - $16
