We are looking for a hands-on leader with a strong technical background and experience managing 6-12 software development engineers to help us scale our services to meet increasing customer growth, build new features, and improve operational efficiency.

OCI is rapidly growing, and the Compute Control Plane is a core service upon which OCI is built. This is an exciting time as we are evolving our architectures to handle future scale and provide new customer capabilities. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment which requires agility, ability to adapt as priorities shift, and a passion to deliver high quality solutions while developing engineers. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, can participate in architectural discussions and the decision-making and work aggressively across teams to keep complex deliveries on track.

As a manager in a key OCI IaaS organization, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

  • Design and build distributed, scalable, highly available, fault tolerant software systems.
  • Building Compute Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) at OCI.
  • Manage a team of highly talented team comprised of full stack development and devops engineers.
  • Lead the entire software lifecycle - development, testing, CI and production operations - for one or more major tracks of the product or service.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, mentoring and managing performance of the development team.
  • Balance between product feature development and production operational concerns like writing ops automation, structured logging, infrastructure qualification, instrumentation for metrics and events.
  • Participate in on-call for the service with the team.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $107,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  • Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
