Role Description The Epoxy and Polished Concrete Specialist is a part-time, on-site role based in Brooklyn, NY. This position is responsible for preparing concrete surfaces, including cleaning, grinding, repairing, and leveling substrates to meet specifications for epoxy coatings and polished finishes. Day-to-day tasks include mixing and applying epoxy and other resinous flooring systems, operating polishing equipment, and ensuring proper curing, sealing, and finishing. The specialist will assist with layout, basic formwork, and coordination with ready-mix deliveries when needed, as well as support flatwork preparation and placement for new or resurfaced floors. The role includes maintaining tools and equipment, following safety procedures, collaborating with the crew, and communicating progress or issues to the site lead or project manager.
Qualifications
- Comfort with operating or assisting with heavy equipment used in concrete preparation and installation, such as grinders, polishers.
- Hands-on experience with epoxy flooring, polished concrete, or related coatings, including surface preparation and finishing techniques.
- Strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and quality workmanship in an on-site construction environment.
- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in varying site conditions.
