Senior Technical Product Manager
Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking an Senior Technical Product Manager to join their AI Platform team! This is a highly technical, execution-focused product role supporting internal developer tools that power AI-driven applications.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, experience building developer platforms (APIs, SDKs, integrations), and a deep curiosity for the developer experience. This individual will collaborate closely with engineering to define and deliver platform capabilities that enable internal developers to safely and efficiently build AI-powered solutions.
This role is both strategic and hands-on, deeply technical, and focused on execution and iteration within complex internal development environments.
Location: Hybrid (2-4x per week onsite in Orlando, FL)
Type: 22-Month Contract
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in technical product management, particularly within developer platforms, APIs, or SDKs.
- Ability to write epics, stories, and acceptance criteria in Jira, ensuring engineering teams have clear direction.
- Strong understanding of developer workflows, including building, testing, and deploying software.
- Background in platform or tool development — creating internal tools or frameworks for engineers to build upon.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working between technical leads, engineers, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with AI or ML-driven platforms, or strong excitement to work within this evolving space.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, computer science, data science, or engineering discipline preferred (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Exposure to internal developer platforms, observability tools, or agent-based ecosystems.
- Understanding of knowledge base integrations, API management, and SDK development.
- Experience engaging with developers to capture feedback and improve tool usability.
- Ability to navigate large, complex organizations and influence without authority.
- Familiarity with AI model integration and developer safety frameworks a plus.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate
- Define and deliver platform capabilities (APIs, SDKs, integrations) that empower developers to build AI-enabled applications.
- Collaborate closely with engineering leads several times per week to align priorities, discuss trade-offs, and ensure clarity on the “why” behind deliverables.
- Act as the voice of the developer, understanding their workflows, pain points, and feature needs to guide product direction.
- Write detailed epics, user stories, and documentation that bridge the gap between strategic goals and tactical execution.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure product roadmaps align with larger technical initiatives.
- Test tools firsthand — build small scripts or sample integrations to evaluate usability and identify improvement areas.
- Maintain clear documentation, communicate progress, and ensure deliverables meet both developer and business requirements.
