We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Front-End Engineer with deep expertise in React and Next.js to join a collaborative global team. In this role, you will work closely with U.S. engineering leads and an offshore development team to build, enhance, and support large-scale booking applications used by millions of users.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in an enterprise ecosystem—comfortable owning front-end development while also contributing to troubleshooting, performance testing, and deployment processes.
**MUST be local to Bethesda, MD.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain modern, scalable front-end applications using React and Next.js.
- Collaborate with U.S. engineering leads, product owners, UX designers, and offshore development teams.
- Ensure performance, scalability, and responsiveness across all supported platforms.
- Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to team members.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support day-to-day operations.
- Work EST hours to ensure smooth handoffs with the offshore team.
- Contribute to deployment pipelines and support performance testing.
Required Qualifications
- 6 years of professional front-end development experience.
- Strong expertise in React and Next.js.
- Experience working with offshore teams in a collaborative environment.
- Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Familiarity with modern state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, etc.).
- Experience with GraphQL.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently within an enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Jenkins or other CI/CD tools for deployment.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues in large-scale systems.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools and techniques.
- Background in enterprise-scale applications and distributed team environments.
