Optomi, in partnership with an industry-leading financial organization, are in search for a Senior Cisco ACI Engineer to support enterprise data center modernization initiatives and lead the design, deployment, and optimization of large-scale Cisco ACI environments. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource focused on scalable network architecture, automation, operational excellence, and mentorship across infrastructure teams.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead deployment and expansion efforts for Cisco ACI environments including spine-leaf architecture, APIC controllers, and Nexus 9000 platforms
- Support ongoing operational management, optimization, and troubleshooting within enterprise ACI fabrics
- Configure and manage tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, contracts, and policy-based networking within ACI
- Collaborate closely with architecture, security, virtualization, and application teams to support scalable and secure infrastructure solutions
- Participate in network modernization, automation, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
- Integrate ACI with virtualization and cloud technologies including VMware and hybrid cloud environments
- Utilize tools such as Nexus Dashboard and Catalyst Center for monitoring, visibility, and operational support
- Support complex troubleshooting efforts across both traditional data center networking and ACI environments
- Contribute to proof-of-concept testing, technical documentation, and engineering standards
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge-sharing initiatives across the team
- Participate in after-hours support and escalation rotations as needed
Required Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ACI architecture and enterprise data center networking
- Experience deploying and supporting ACI environments from initial design through production operations
- Advanced troubleshooting capabilities across routing, switching, and data center technologies
- Strong knowledge of protocols including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, and MPLS
- Experience working with routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancing technologies
- Understanding of PCI/security standards and secure network design principles
- Ability to create and maintain detailed network diagrams and technical documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in highly collaborative engineering environments
Preferred Experience
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP Data Center or CCIE Data Center
- Experience with Nexus Dashboard, Multi-Site Orchestrator, and Catalyst Center
- Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, or Infrastructure as Code methodologies
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps-oriented network engineering practices
- Experience supporting firewall and load balancer technologies
Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred
- 7 years of network engineering experience
- 5 years of hands-on Cisco ACI experience in enterprise environments
- Prior experience leading projects, mentoring engineers, and supporting large-scale production infrastructure environments
