Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) – Sports Simulation will be responsible for driving revenue growth, channel expansion, and strategic partnerships within the rapidly growing golf simulator market. This role requires a highly experienced sales professional with deep relationships in golf simulation, indoor golf, AV integration, or related specialty channels.
The ideal candidate combines technical AV knowledge, channel sales expertise, and strong industry connections within golf simulation ecosystems (OEMs, integrators, installers, and resellers).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Sales & Revenue Growth
• Develop and execute regional sales strategies to grow Optoma’s golf simulation business
• Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
• Identify and close new business opportunities across residential and commercial golf simulator segments (e.g., retail, hospitality, training facilities)
Channel Development
• Build and manage relationships with:
o Golf simulator manufacturers (OEMs)
o AV integrators and installers
o Specialty dealers and resellers
• Expand distribution channels and strengthen partner engagement
Account Management
• Manage key accounts and strategic partners within the golf simulation ecosystem
• Provide product training, sales enablement, and ongoing support to partners
• Collaborate with marketing to drive joint go-to-market initiatives
Technical & Solution Selling
• Position Optoma’s Sports Sim solutions for a variety of simulator environments
• Deliver product demonstrations and support system design conversations
• Work closely with engineering and product teams on customer requirements
Market Intelligence
• Track industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in golf simulation
• Provide feedback to product management to influence roadmap and innovation
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Required
• 3-5 years in successful field sales experience;
o Golf simulation industry
o Pro AV / projection / display technology
o Specialty consumer electronics or experiential retail
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
• Established relationships within golf simulator or AV integration channels
• Strong understanding of solution-based selling and channel sales models
• Self-motivated and self-driven; work independently with little or no supervision and the ability to work in a team environment
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to problem solve
• Proficiency with standard corporate productivity tools, including and not limited to: email, voice mail, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, CRM platforms
• Demonstrates strong communication, written and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel regionally (30–50%)
Preferred
• Experience with projection technology, Sports Simulators, or immersive environments
• Background working with simulator software/hardware ecosystems
• Knowledge of residential and commercial AV system design
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
