What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry-level CAD Technician position at Optimum Building Systems?
We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer with experience in ACM, MCM, and aluminum plate exterior façade panels to support the design and drafting of architectural cladding systems. This role is responsible for preparing panel layouts, elevations, sections, details, and fabrication drawings based on project plans and specifications.
The ideal candidate will have experience with façade systems, strong CAD skills, and the ability to develop clear, accurate, and buildable drawing packages that support estimating, production, and installation.
Duties:
- Prepare CAD drawings for ACM, MCM, and aluminum plate façade systems
- Develop panel layouts, details, shop drawings, and fabrication documents
- Review plans and specifications to ensure design accuracy
- Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and production teams
- Revise drawings based on internal review, client comments, and field conditions
- Identify constructability issues and support project execution
- Report Directly to Manufacturing and Fabrication Operations manager
Qualifications:
- Experience with ACM/MCM/aluminum plate panel systems or related cladding products
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Compensation: Starting at $25.00 per hour, with higher pay based on experience.
