What are the responsibilities and job description for the BAS Controls Electrician position at Optimized Personnel Solutions?
Looking for several experienced BAS Controls Installers to handle the physical installation, wiring, and setup of BAS/HVAC control systems for commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background, mechanical aptitude, and hands-on experience with HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BAS). This is a hands-on, field-based position for Controls Installers/Low Voltage electricians/Commercial Electricians who take pride in their craft. We are looking for professionals who can hit the ground running and contribute from day one.
Responsibilities:
- Installing EMT and/or RIGID conduit; ability to bend conduit with a hand bender.
- Roughing in and running low-voltage cabling throughout commercial job sites
- Terminating low-voltage cabling in control panels and field devices (temperature, pressure, air volume sensors and switches, etc.)
- Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, control drawings, and schematics
- Planning, coordinating, and sequencing work to align with project timelines
- Documenting and reporting installation progress accurately
- Working alongside other trades on active commercial construction sites
Qualifications:
• Must have 2 years experience running 3/4 and 1-inch conduit.
- Must have 2 years of proven electrical experience in commercial projects.
• Prior experience in BAS or HVAC Controls installation (Highly preferred and valued).
- A basic knowledge of electricity and relay logic.
- Ability to read and follow wiring schematics and controls points lists (required).
- Familiarity with additional low-voltage systems is a plus (Access Control, A/V, Telecom/Data).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently in the field.
