We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Assistant / Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will support daily accounting operations, assist with financial reporting, and help maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
- Perform bank and account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and reports
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
- Assist with budget tracking, expense analysis, and audits
- Support payroll processing and expense reimbursements as needed
- Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding accounting matters
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred (entry-level candidates considered)
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Skills
- Experience with reconciliations and financial reporting
- Prior experience in a small business or multi-entity environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
