What are the responsibilities and job description for the Desktop Support Technician position at Optimae LifeServices?
JOB SUMMARY
The Desktop Support Technician will be a member of the IT team for Optimae LifeServices and support over 800 computer users across the state. This employee will report to the Director of IT.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Associate degree and/or two or more years of experience in related field is preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must display the aptitude and willingness to work closely with the staff, consumers, and the public
- Must have excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer equipment for Optimae LifeServices, including Windows desktops, laptops, and Android tablets.
- Occasional installation and removal of software and peripherals.
- Respond to services calls to troubleshoot and resolve reported problems as well as documenting process and outcomes using
an electronic ticketing system.
- Use remote technologies where applicable to configure or troubleshoot devices.
- Install network cabling between workstations and communication closets.
- Install networking equipment including switches and wireless access points
- Maintain records of equipment movement and local inventories using an ITAM system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This position does require traveling to multiple locations.Associate degree and/or two or more years of experience in related field is preferred.
