Our client, a global leader in the automotive industry, is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join their team and lead the EHS function at their manufacturing facility in Ithaca, NY. This role is a critical part of ensuring a safe, compliant, and sustainable workplace, while driving continuous improvement in environmental and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee all EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, DEC, etc.).
- Lead safety culture initiatives, conducting training, coaching, and awareness programs to engage employees at all levels.
- Partner with plant leadership to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring safe work practices across operations.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, incidents, audits, and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits, waste management, emissions, and sustainability initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, risk assessments, and proactive safety initiatives.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and corporate EHS teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state/local regulations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence, coach, and foster a culture of safety.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM) a plus.
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
