One of our favorite clients is looking for an Assistant Director of Resident Care.
This is a well respected and established Senior Living Community located in Fallbrook, CA. is currently looking to fill this important role.
Position Summary:
Provide support to the Department Director in overseeing the supervision and training of caregivers and med-techs in the provision of personal services to residents in Independent, Assisted Living and Dementia/Alzheimer’s disease care. The primary focus of this position will be management of staff and residents in memory care.
Resident Care Management
· Assist with the oversight of necessary programing and dementia-specific training in the suites building
· Assesses residents to determine medical problems and/or changes in condition and ensures proper documentation in charts; also notifies physicians and family members of condition changes or medical problems.
· Ensure care plans are implemented regarding additional services provided by outside vendors are established for the utmost comfort for all residents.
· Maintain excellence in care for all memory care residents.
Staff Supervision and Support
· Provides supervision, training, evaluation and discipline of Assisted Living employees; and to ensure they have a clear understanding of delivering proper care to all residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care.
· Evaluate staffing needs on a continuous basis to ensure that positions are filled in a timely manner to minimize department overtime and provide continuous quality service to residents.
· Notifies Director of staffing needs and coordinates recruiting with Director, including screening applicants and coordinating interviews with Director for all Assisted Living staff positions. Also coordinates the new hire process, including training and orientation of staff members.
· Ensures completion of initial training in accordance with state regulations, as well as complying with state requirements for ongoing training.
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance
· Oversee the monitoring and charting of monthly weights of residents.
· Reviews physician orders, lab requests, and follow up with residents as needed.
· Performs finger sticks and insulin injections for diabetic residents.
· Assist with the coordination of medical appointments for residents
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Experience: Minimum 1 year experience with administrative duties
Licenses & Certifications
Current/Valid State of California licensure for Licensed Vocational Nurse. Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
· Knowledge of State of California requirements set forth in Title 22
· Knowledge and understanding of Gerontology, Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
· Knowledge and ability to oversee medication programs
· Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to respond to each resident with empathy and respect
· Ability to lead, direct, and work well with others.
· Ability to communicate in English clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, other departments, residents and their family members, doctors and other outside professionals that provide service to the residents.
· Ability to respond effectively in an emergency or crisis and follow the company’s emergency disaster plan.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
