What are the responsibilities and job description for the SERVICE MECHANIC – PETROLEUM EQUIPMENT & ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES position at Optima Environmental Services, Inc?
About Optima
Optima Environmental Services is a growing environmental and petroleum service company operating throughout the Hudson Valley. We handle petroleum equipment service and installation, underground and aboveground storage tank work, environmental remediation, spill response, and PBS compliance for commercial, municipal, and residential customers across Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Ulster, Westchester, Sullivan, and Greene counties.
We run a lean, skilled team. The people who work here know the trade, take ownership of their work, and show up every day ready to do what the job requires.
What You'll Do
Every day looks a little different. You'll diagnose and repair dispensers, pumps, piping, spill buckets, overfill devices, sumps, and associated petroleum equipment at retail fueling facilities and commercial sites. You'll also assist on tank installations and removals, petroleum piping projects, and environmental construction work. You'll read drawings, complete service reports, maintain company vehicles and tools, and work closely with project managers and field supervisors.
This is not a one-task job. On any given day you may be turning wrenches on a dispenser in the morning and helping set pipe in the afternoon. We're looking for someone who understands that and welcomes it.
