Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Birmingham, AL, for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The LPN will be responsible for providing direct patient care, assisting with wound treatments, monitoring patients' progress, and maintaining accurate medical records. The role also involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to execute care plans and educating patients and caregivers on proper wound care techniques. Reliable transportation is required, as the position involves traveling to patient homes and assisted living facilities.
Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and current, active nursing licensure in Alabama
- Competence in wound care practices, dressing techniques, and infection prevention
- Excellent clinical skills including patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient and caregiver education
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers to develop and execute care plans
- Adaptability to perform tasks in diverse environments, including patient homes and assisted living facilities
- Attention to detail and time management skills
- Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and patient charting
- CPR certification and a valid driver’s license with a reliable mode of transportation
- Previous experience in wound care or home health is preferred but not required
