Position: VTL CNC Machinist (Vertical Turning Lathe)

Location: Clackamas, OR

Pay: $30 /hr DOE

Schedule: Day Shift

Who We Are:

Opti Staffing Group is hiring on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client in the Clackamas area. We are seeking an experienced VTL CNC Machinist who is confident in both setup and operation of Vertical Turning Lathes and is looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing company.

What You’ll Do:

• Set up and operate Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL)
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Monitor machine operations and adjust tooling/offsets as needed
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards are met
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines

What You Need to Have:

• Experience setting up and operating VTL CNC machines
• Strong understanding of machining processes and tolerances
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  
  

The Musts:

• Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience
• Hands-on VTL setup and operation experience
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  
  

Preferred:

• Experience with large-part machining
• Programming/editing experience is a plus
• Forklift or overhead crane experience
• Manufacturing or heavy industrial background
