ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support the accounting operations of a well-established organization in the Anchorage area. This role is a great fit for someone who takes pride in accuracy, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys being a reliable resource for both internal teams and external vendors.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Accurately scan, review, code, and process vendor invoices, vouchers, expense reports, and check requests in accordance with standard procedures
• Maintain vendor files in the accounting system, keeping contact information current and documentation properly attached
• Manage vendor payment due dates and ensure timely disbursement
• Receive, research, and resolve internal and external inquiries related to account status, invoicing, and purchase orders
• Reconcile various accounts by identifying and correcting posting errors or omissions
• Reconcile the inventory system against incoming invoices and supporting documentation, researching any discrepancies
• Assist with monthly status reports and month-end closing activities
• Serve as a backup for weekly payroll processing
• File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports
• Provide timely and accurate reports and information as requested
• Support the front office team by answering main line phones, greeting guests, signing for mail deliveries, and serving as office notary
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the accounting department
  
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
• Associate's Degree in Accounting preferred
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• High degree of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills
