Position: Estimator – Metal Fabrication
Location: Portland, OR
Pay: Up to $35/hr DOE
Schedule: Day Shift | Monday – Friday

This organization specializes in precision metal fabrication, custom manufacturing, and industrial projects across multiple sectors. What You’ll Do:
- Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates
- Calculate material, labor, machining, tooling, and subcontractor costs
- Prepare and submit accurate, competitive quotes
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to verify scope and lead times
- Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing on materials and outside services
- Analyze project risks, manufacturing feasibility, and production timelines
- Maintain estimating records and documentation in internal systems

What You Need to Have:
- Experience as an Estimator within metal fabrication, machining, or related manufacturing industries
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and production workflows
- Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
The Musts:
- Previous estimating experience in metal fabrication or similar industrial environment
- Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and RFQs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and vendors
Preferred:
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Background in structural steel, sheet metal, or machining environments
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Experience sourcing vendor quotes and managing cost breakdowns
