Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of floors, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and vacuuming.
- Operate floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and polishers to maintain various floor types (e.g., tile, carpet, wood, or vinyl).
- Apply floor finishes, waxes, and sealants as needed to preserve and protect surfaces.
- Inspect floors for damage or wear and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure proper storage, maintenance, and care of cleaning tools and machinery.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a clean working environment.
- Maintain records of cleaning schedules and inventory of cleaning supplies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Familiarity with common floor care tools and machinery, including buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums.
- Understanding of floor cleaning techniques for different surfaces and materials.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices related to cleaning and equipment usage.
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment and supplies, as well as perform tasks requiring prolonged standing or bending.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
