SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Manager of Logistics and Donation Acquisition, the CDL Truck Driver will perform daily local deliveries and pick-ups in a company vehicle at various locations. The CDL Driver will also be responsible for in-house materials such as stack, wrap, label, physical movement of materials, loading and unloading, as well as, driving and operating forklifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as  mandated by state law.
  2. Travel to various locations in the Las Vegas area and between Opportunity Village campuses.
  3. Must be able to meet all requirements of OV vehicle policies and travel:
    1. Between worksite locations
    2. Within the community
  4. Accurately complete pre-and-post shift inspection and preventative maintenance logs for assigned vehicle.
  5. Supervise or help with the loading of company vehicles.
  6. Check the condition and security of the load and that it is securely fastened.
  7. Assist with the loading of company vehicles; adhere to all safety requirements including proper lifting techniques, use of dollies, lift gates, use of seat belts and other equipment when moving material.
  8. Ensure the condition of the load and that it is securely fastened.
  9. Check all documentation related to goods being transported.
  10. Drive a tractor, truck, or van to make deliveries and pick-ups.
  11. Move materials using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or hand carry.
  12. Prepare goods for transport and storage.
  13. Assist in the organization of goods stored in the warehouse.
  14. Communicate route variable with manager such as heavy traffic conditions, lag time with dock availability, lag time with customer specific needs and requests.
  15. Assist in obtaining accurate inventory counts of goods stored on company property and performing inventory counts.
  16. Process and accept credit card payments accurately and securely, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable financial regulations.
  17. Assists in cleaning yard and dock space as needed.
  18. May be assigned other duties as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of defensive driving techniques and relevant transport laws.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and how to identify hazardous road conditions.
  • Knowledge of methods of securing and covering loads, including use of locks, straps and types of knots.
  • Ability to safely operate pallet jack and forklift.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: Three (3) years of CDL truck driving experience.
  • Required: Local truck driving experience.
  • Required: Nevada CDL Drivers License (Class A) with three years of clean driving history.
  • Required: Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
