You will be working hand-in-hand with the Program Director to manage the overnight operations of a Code Blue shelter during this essential time.
The Details
- Job Title: Code Blue Program Staff – Overnight Homeless Shelter
- The Season: November 17 to April 30 (Seasonal Contract)
- Shift: Overnight, 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM daily
What You'll Be Doing (Essential Functions)
You will support the overnight program operations. You'll be the backbone of our shelter operations during the night, maintaining a secure and safe environment for everyone.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Client Services: Meet the needs of program participants.
- Safety & Compliance: Help maintain a safe environment for all stakeholders and support the program operations.
- Administration & Documentation: Complete participant intakes , accurately complete required paperwork and program-related documents , and document daily activities in the log book.
- Teamwork: Interact with staff and volunteers on related matters and train new staff as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
We are looking for compassionate and reliable individuals ready to commit to this important work.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: Six (6) months of prior experience working with the homeless population, or previous personal experience with homelessness, is a minimum requirement.
- Skills: You must have the ability to read and write at a high school level and the ability to accurately and neatly complete program documents.
- Preference: Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred to better serve our diverse client population.
- Physical Demands: You must be routinely able to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, and perform other physical tasks as needed. You must also routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
