Location: 153 Dixon Dr., Chestertown, MD 21620
Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Salary Range: $70,000 to $95,000 per year

The Dixon Group is looking for an Engineering Data & PDM Administrator to join our Innovation team in Chestertown, MD! As the Engineering Data & PDM Administrator, you will own and advance the engineering data management environment to ensure accurate, controlled, and scalable product development. You will also be responsible for administering and optimizing SolidWorks PDM, supporting engineering teams with CAD best practices, and designing robust workflows for revision control and change management.
The position focuses on improving data integrity, standardizing engineering processes, and enabling efficient collaboration across engineering, quality, and operations. This is a hands-on role requiring both technical depth and strong process ownership—not just system maintenance.

What You'll Do:
- Administer and enhance SolidWorks PDM Professional, including workflows, data cards, permissions, and vault structure
- Design, implement, and enforce engineering workflows (ECO/ECN, revision control, release processes)
- Provide day-to-day SolidWorks support to engineering teams (assemblies, references, performance, best practices)
- Establish and maintain engineering data standards (file structures, naming conventions, metadata governance)
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and traceability across all engineering documentation
- Partner with engineering, quality, and operations to align PDM workflows with real-world processes
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies in engineering workflows through system and process improvements
- Support onboarding and training of engineering users on PDM and SolidWorks tools
- Maintain documentation for PDM configuration, workflows, and standards
- Coordinate with IT for system performance, backups, and upgrades as needed
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred
- Equivalent hands-on experience with demonstrated technical capability will be considered
- 5 years of experience in SolidWorks PDM administration, engineering systems, or CAD administration roles
- Experience supporting engineering teams in a manufacturing or product development environment
- Demonstrated experience implementing or improving PDM workflows and data governance
- Strong administration of SolidWorks PDM Professional (workflows, data cards, permissions, vault architecture)
- Advanced SolidWorks proficiency (assemblies, configurations, file management, troubleshooting)
- Solid understanding of engineering change management (ECO/ECN), revision control, and product structures
- Experience with BOM management and engineering documentation control
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments and product lifecycle processes
- Working knowledge of SQL or system integrations (preferred, not required)
- Systems thinker with the ability to align tools, processes, and business needs
- Process-oriented with the ability to define, standardize, and enforce best practices
- Strong problem solver focused on root cause and long-term solutions
- Effective communicator who can work cross-functionally with engineering and operations
- Self-directed with a high level of ownership and accountability
