Design Engineer
Location 365 Haacke Drive, Chestertown, MD 21620
Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000

The Dixon Group is looking for a Design Engineer to join our BOSS division in Chestertown, MD! The Design Engineer is a unique role that includes aspects of product engineering, Computer Aided Design and new product development. They will be part of the New Product Development Team and support the NPD process through concept development and prototype design, project management, supplier interaction and validation testing. They will support Product and Process Engineering through drawing updates, product enhancements, tooling design, stress, flow, and failure analysis.

What You'll Do:
- Create parts, models, and layouts for new designs
- Create and revise drawings using Solidworks
- Manage release of engineering documents using SolidWorks PDM
- Manage procurement or 3D printing of prototype parts
- Perform drawing checks for other designers/drafters in the department
- Oversee assembly and testing of engineering prototypes
- Interact with vendors to exchange information and collaborate on part design.
- Support Quality Assurance efforts with part inspections and supplier quality discussions
- Assist manufacturing operations through drawing support – interpret drawings and answer questions as necessary
- Assist with the development and maintenance of department SOP’s
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related science required
- 2-3 years of working in an engineering role including:
- Creating production drawings in SolidWorks
- Designing parts and assemblies in SolidWorks in a manufacturing environment
- Reading and interpreting industry specifications
- SolidWorks Certified preferred, but not required
- Strong technical problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Detail oriented
- Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong computer skills (Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, including PDM
