Position Description:
The Land Administration Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the Land Administration team in support of division order and lease records functions. This role oversees lease data management, payment obligations, and royalty/revenue distribution for both operated and non-operated assets. The Supervisor ensures data accuracy, process efficiency, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements while supporting client deliverables.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop Land Administration staff in the research, analysis, and interpretation of title opinions, ownership reports, and curative documents
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and integrity of lease records within land systems and databases
- Ensure all lease obligations, payments, and expirations are tracked and executed accurately and on schedule
- Review and approve ownership updates and changes in accordance with supporting documentation
- Review and approve interest calculations for non-operated and mineral clients; assist in resolving complex decimal discrepancies
- Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and data quality initiatives to ensure efficient workflows and consistent data integration
- Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures, user guides, and process documentation
- Prepare and present detailed reports to management regarding client deliverables and land administration activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Land, JIB, Revenue, and Financial Reporting teams
- Support client onboarding, including data setup, process alignment, and transition planning
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in Land Administration, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of land systems; experience with BOLO is preferred
- Advanced understanding of oil and gas terminology related to division orders, lease records, and ownership
- Proven ability to read, interpret, and analyze complex legal descriptions, title opinions, and curative documents
- Advanced knowledge of oil and gas leases, deeds, and related contractual provisions, including their operational and financial implications
- In-depth understanding of special obligations, payments, and associated timelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, initiative, and accountability in completing assignments
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and project demands
