Job Title: Site Quality Warranty Leader
- Type of contract: Full-time
- Expected Hiring Date: ASAP
- Scope: Elkhart, IN site with cross-functional collaboration across Quality, Engineering, Suppliers, Customers, and global support teams
- Lead site warranty management, including claim analysis, approvals, rejections, and adherence to company procedures
- Manage warranty systems, ERP workflows, and RGA/RMA processes
- Analyze warranty data to identify trends, defect modes, costs, and improvement opportunities
- Oversee customer support for warranty-related issues and ensure timely, accurate resolutions
- Address escalations and represent the site with customers and suppliers
- Drive root-cause analysis using 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, FTA, and other quality tools
- Lead cross-functional team actions without direct authority and ensure timely follow-up
- Review technical drawings, schematics, and BOMs to support accurate failure diagnostics
- Support supplier recovery efforts by documenting findings and negotiating cost recovery
- Maintain complete documentation of warranty case files, test results, corrective actions, and reports
- Prepare monthly KPI dashboards, warranty cost analyses, and MBR reports
- Support end-of-month financial alignment and validation of warranty-related hours and costs
- Ensure compliance with ISO and IATF standards and support internal and external audits
- Participate in hands-on product tear-downs, testing, evaluation, and technical investigations
- Travel as needed to customers, suppliers, or support teams (approximately 10% or more depending on needs)
- This role operates under TISAX confidentiality level [Level 2], requiring appropriate handling of sensitive information
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive or battery quality, warranty, or service engineering
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or software system failure modes
- Proficient with ERP systems and warranty claim portals
- Skilled in RCA tools including 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, FTA, and experienced with PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans
- Strong data analysis skills with Excel (lookups, pivots, Power Query) and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Able to write clear technical reports, failure analyses, and communications for non-technical stakeholders
- Independent, proactive, and resilient in high-pressure situations and escalations
- Strong communicator with the ability to lead cross-functional teams indirectly
- Hands-on mindset with mechanical aptitude and experience participating in or leading tear-downs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and automotive quality systems preferred
- Travel flexibility and willingness to work on-site in Elkhart, IN
