About the Role: As a licensed Florida Wastewater Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring wastewater treatment processes and equipment, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes and equipment
- Adjust treatment processes based on operational data, testing, and system performance
- Collect samples and perform routine laboratory analyses
- Monitor and document plant operations through logs, reports, and SCADA systems
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain pumps, valves, and treatment equipment
- Respond to operational issues and emergency situations as needed
- Support compliance with Florida environmental regulations and permit requirements
- Assist with training and mentoring Operator Trainees
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all plant safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Wastewater Operator License (Class A, B, or C)
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Authorization to work in the United States
Required Skills:
- Experience working in municipal or industrial wastewater treatment facilities
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Experience with process control systems, instrumentation, and laboratory testing

Pay range and compensation package:
- Class C Operator: $25.00 to $37.50 per hour ($52,000 to $78,000 annually)
- Class B Operator: $26.92 to $40.38 per hour ($56,000 to $84,000 annually)
- Class A Operator: $28.37 to $42.79 per hour ($59,000 to $89,000 annually)
- Compensation is based on experience, certifications, and licensing level
- Additional Pay: $1.00/hour shift differential for night shift positions
- Available Shifts:
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
