WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor
Applications are being accepted for a part-time Breastfeeding Peer Counselor position in the Womens, Infants, and Childrens (WIC) Nutrition Program at Operation Threshold. This position will be employed by a Temp Employment Agency and be contracted by Operation Threshold. This position serves as a para-professional support person who provides specific tasks within the defined scope of practice regarding breastfeeding information and encouragement to WIC participants who are pregnant or breastfeeding mothers. They also provide assistance to healthcare, nutrition and IBCLC staff. The position serves clients outside usual clinic hours and our WIC client environment.
Qualified applicants will need to complete the required peer counselor training, have good computer skills, be a current or past WIC participant, and have successfully breastfed at least one infant for 6 months.
