,

The Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Specialist helps protect survivors, Operation Safe Escape, and our partners by identifying information exposure, determining adversarial intent, and tracking emerging threats to the survivor space. This role identifies vulnerabilities before they can be exploited, finding exposed personal information, data leaks, and the early signals of adversarial intent often out in the open.

This role requires real OSINT experience and sound judgment. You will be handling sensitive findings about real people in potentially dangerous situations, so discretion, accuracy, and ethical restraint matter as much as technical skill. We are looking for experienced analysts who take the work seriously and know that the goal is stealth and protection.

Members of this team share tools, sources, techniques, and tips freely, learn from each other's work, and build collective tradecraft over time. You will not be a lone analyst in a silo. You will be part of a group that makes each other better.

What The Role Looks Like

  • Identifies exposed information, leaks, and vulnerabilities affecting survivors, the organization, and partner shelters, safe houses, and advocacy orgs.
  • Detects early signals of adversarial intent and surfaces them to the right team for action.
  • Performs OSINT background checks on incoming volunteers as part of our vetting process.
  • Researches adversary groups, their tactics, and their behavior to help develop countermeasures proactively rather than reactively.
  • Documents findings clearly and responsibly, with actionable recommendations and appropriate handling of sensitive data.
  • Shares tools, sources, and techniques with the team and contributes to shared tradecraft and resources.

What We Are Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience as an OSINT analyst or in a closely related intelligence, investigations, or research role.
  • Proficiency with OSINT tools, techniques, and sources across people search, social media, domains, breach data, and geolocation.
  • Strong analytical judgment and the ability to separate signal from noise.
  • A disciplined, ethical approach to sensitive information and a clear understanding of the laws and boundaries that apply.
  • Ability to document findings clearly and hand them off to the right people for action.
  • A collaborative mindset. This team wins by sharing.
  • Familiarity with the tactics used against survivors of abuse, stalking, and trafficking is a plus.

DATA PROTECTION AND CLIENT PROTECTION

  • Volunteers handle confidential data and must protect survivor information at all times.
  • Findings, source material, and any sensitive intelligence must be handled with the strictest confidence and protected in accordance with Operation Safe Escape procedures.
  • Each volunteer must pass a double background check due to the sensitive nature of the work.
  • Operation Safe Escape is a non-discriminatory organization that protects survivors regardless of gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, immigration status, or any other characteristic.
