Operation Restoration (OR) supports women and girls impacted by incarceration to recognize their full potential, restore their lives, and discover new possibilities. At OR, we focus on advocacy, education, economic mobility, and true economic equity for our staff, clients, and community. Our goal is to end the incarceration of women and girls. Incarceration is defined as confinement in a prison, jail, immigrant detention facility, juvenile detention facility, military detention facility, or deportation facility. Operation Restoration defines directly impacted women and girls as individuals who are currently or have previously been incarcerated, arrested, or are on probation and/or parole.
About the Position:
Under the direction of the Communications Specialist, the Donor Cultivation Coordinator supports OR's communications and fundraising efforts by coordinating donor communications, maintaining fundraising systems, and assisting with donor stewardship activities. This position serves as a key support role that helps strengthen OR's external fundraising reach by ensuring donors receive timely, accurate, and engaging communications that nurture and sustain donor relationships.
Working collaboratively across the Communications Department and with guidance from the President & CEO on fundraising initiatives, the Donor Cultivation Coordinator supports donor cultivation efforts, assists with fundraising campaigns and events, maintains donor management systems, and helps ensure consistent messaging across donor-facing communications. This position also provides communications support for OR's annual fundraising priorities and capital campaign activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Donor Communications & Stewardship Support
- Support the development and distribution of donor communications, including newsletters, appeals, outreach emails, acknowledgment letters, and campaign materials using approved messaging
- Assist with implementing donor cultivation and stewardship activities under the direction of the President & CEO, with an emphasis on nurturing donor relationships
- Support donor recognition efforts by helping coordinate acknowledgments, thank-you communications, and stewardship touchpoints that strengthen donor engagement
- Assist with maintaining donor communication calendars and fundraising timelines
- Support preparation of donor meeting materials, presentations, and cultivation packets
- Coordinate communications related to sponsorship opportunities and fundraising initiatives
Fundraising Systems & Database Support
- Maintain accurate donor records within OR's donor management system in Salesforce, including donor profiles, communication history, and campaign activity
- Manage OR's donor platforms, including Donorbox and other seasonal giving platforms, ensuring information remains accurate and current
- Support gift tracking, reporting, and donor acknowledgment processes in collaboration with the finance team
- Assist with preparing monthly fundraising and donor engagement reports for President & CEO
Communications & Fundraising Coordination
- Support communications that advance OR's fundraising initiatives, annual giving efforts, and capital campaign
- Assist with creating fundraising content for social media, website updates, newsletters, digital campaigns, and print materials using approved messaging and branding
- Coordinate donor-focused storytelling by gathering program updates, impact stories, testimonials, and organizational highlights that help deepen donor connection and engagement
- Support execution of fundraising campaigns across multiple communication channels
- Assist with maintaining fundraising content calendars alongside departmental communications calendars
- Collaborate with OR staff to gather stories, outcomes, and organizational updates that support fundraising communications and donor engagement
- Support organizational initiatives requiring donor-facing communications
- Support the Communications Specialist with the development and execution of external communications, including digital content, drafting written external materials, and other communications assets as assigned
Events & External Engagement
- Support planning and coordination of donor cultivation events, fundraising events, sponsorship activations, community engagement opportunities, and capital campaign events
- Support all fundraising and donor engagement activities hosted in Operation Restoration's Caesars Superdome Suite
- Open, prepare, and staff the Caesars Superdome Suite for fundraising and donor cultivation events
- Support the President & CEO in hosting, cultivating, and stewarding donors and prospective donors attending Superdome Suite events
- Assist with event communications, registration materials, signage, collateral, and donor follow-up
- Support event logistics before, during, and after fundraising events
- Coordinate communications materials that enhance donor and sponsor experiences and foster relationship-building
Team Support
- Follow established communications and fundraising workflows, SOPs, and approval processes
- Support departmental administrative functions related to fundraising communications
- Perform related duties as assigned in support of organizational goals
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties related to Operation Restoration
At times, this role requires flexibility to work outside of standard business hours to support our mission as a community-centered organization. The role also may include occasional travel.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
- 1–3 years of experience in communications, nonprofit development, fundraising support, marketing, public relations, or a related field
- Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Canva, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and content management systems
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects while following established priorities and direction
- Commitment to criminal justice reform, equity, and Operation Restoration's mission
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with formerly incarcerated women preferred
- Experience maintaining databases or CRM systems preferred
- Familiarity with donor management platforms, fundraising software, or CRM systems preferred
