Location: Toledo, OH
Duration: 6-month contract with possible extension.
Pay Rate: $34 - $35 an hour in W2
Shift hours: Should be ready for all three shifts

Job Summary
The Maintenance Technical Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading maintenance activities for automotive testing equipment, facility systems, and buildings to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supervises a multi-trade maintenance team, develops preventive maintenance strategies, manages industrial automation troubleshooting, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, and supervise maintenance and repair activities for automotive testing equipment and facility systems.
- Lead and oversee a multi-trade maintenance team to complete work safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, Canadian Electrical Code, TSSA regulations, corporate policies, and all applicable safety standards.
- Develop, implement, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Troubleshoot industrial automation and automated testing equipment to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Manage Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) compliance for skilled trades personnel.
- Schedule preventive maintenance activities based on equipment criticality and operational priorities.
- Prioritize maintenance work based on equipment downtime, production requirements, and workforce availability.
- Maintain employee timekeeping, overtime records, vacation schedules, and attendance.
- Serve as the primary contact for janitorial services and facility maintenance contractors.
- Conduct environmental inspections and coordinate waste disposal and recycling activities.
- Procure maintenance parts, equipment, tools, rentals, and consumables.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs, including preventive maintenance completion, downtime, overtime, and maintenance costs.
- Maintain inventory levels for maintenance materials, spare parts, and equipment.
- Build strong working relationships with internal customers, vendors, and suppliers.
- Support continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Coach, mentor, and develop skilled trades employees to improve technical capabilities and performance.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial automation experience with project management responsibilities.
- Experience leading maintenance activities in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Ability to lead, coach, and mentor maintenance personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or another technical discipline.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
- Experience supervising maintenance teams in a unionized environment.
- Green Belt, Red X, or Six Sigma certification.
