Company Description
We have a Senior Accountant opening at our corporate office in Westbury. The ideal candidate will be verifying, allocating and reconciling accounts payable and receivable as well as prepare month-end close procedures.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reconcile general accounts
• Prepare and book adjusting journal entries where necessary
• Month close of cash/equity/fixed assets
• Calculate interest reasonableness
• Reconcile intercompany transactions
• Control the fixed asset processes (reporting/tagging/physical count)
• Provide bank with proper records for CAP-X line of credit submittal
• Ad-hoc finance projects
• Support the budget & forecast process
• Perform bank and other balance sheet reconciliations
• Books weekly payroll into Oracle
• Prepare and/or contribute to creating specifications for IT to automate repetitive functions
• Support the Controller/Assistant Controller in both Annual Financial & Bank Audits
• Responsible for the reporting and reconciliation of all Customer Rebate Programs
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 6-7 years of experience preferred
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounting functions
• Background in manufacturing/packaging operations
• MS Excel skills required
• Oracle system experience preferred
• Task orientated, well-structured and organized individual who can perform professional level accounting work in a manufacturing/packaging environment
