MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
Job Title: Production/Packaging Mechanic
Location: Suffolk County, NY
Salary: $18/hr to $23/hr Depending on experience (plus OT)
Job Responsibilities:
Repair, replace, and troubleshoot various production and packaging equipment associated throughout the facility
Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment
Perform preventative maintenance to ensure that equipment continues to operate efficiently
• Properly perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding and plumbing duties (as required).
Communicate to Maintenance Supervisor/ Plant Manager any conditions that prevent the manufacture of product to established standards
Perform technical and administrative duties i.e. paperwork and daily reports
Work in a safe manner, in compliance with Company, State and Federal, OSHA, GMP’s, SOP’s and other company Policy and Procedures
Qualifications:
Mechanically and electronically inclined
Able to read blue prints and do layout work/sketches and use basic hand tools and power tools.
Prior experience as a Mechanic in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environment
Familiar with food processing and packaging equipment
Ability to work in a refrigerated environment
Strong technical ability and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
