Maintenance MechanicWe are looking for an energetic and self-motivated Mechanic to join our team. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager. They will work closely with the production team, line leads, supervisors, and maintenance counter parts becoming part of a cohesive team responsible for the safe and uninterrupted operation of all production and facility equipment.Compensation: *Salary based on 40-hour work week * Overtime (time & 1/2) for any hours over 40 * Bonus*Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, conveyor systems, production, and utility machines by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications.Experience with package equipment such as horizontal flow wrappers, box formers and closers. Also process equipment such as extruders, enrobers, cooling tunnels, etc.Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment as equipment is made available.Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging, production and utility machines.Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, using precision measuring and testing instruments.Remove defective/damaged parts using items such as hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.Adjust functional parts of machines and control instruments by using items such as hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs as required.Work with and support Engineering during new projects and process improvement activities.Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish requisite tasks.Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, issues and ongoing opportunities.Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. if required, and dexterity to allow looking inside of machinery, panels, overhead, and potentially awkward positions or locations to assess equipment.Perform other duties as assigned or required.Key CompetenciesProactive and self-motivatedEmphasis on knowledge sharing and team buildingAdaptable / Flexible: Open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstancesCross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work in a dynamic team environmentProblem-Solving: Prevents and solves issues, understand, and mitigates problems, recognizes cause and effect relationships between functionsQualificationsHigh School, technical, post high school, training/schooling or equivalent experienceCMMS system preferred but not requiredStrong organizational skills and detail orientatedAbility to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environmentFood or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience or packaging equipment experience requiredFamiliar with PLC’s and VFD’sBilingual in Spanish and English is highly preferredCompany DescriptionOur collective strength, diversity, and talent are the foundation of our company’s success!
