Chrome Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform chrome plating on hydraulic components and cylinders to meet quality standards.
• Inspect workpieces to ensure compliance with specifications using micrometers and other precision tools.
• Prepare surfaces for plating by cleaning, degreasing, and masking.
• Operate and maintain plating tanks, anodes, and rectifiers.
• Conduct thickness and hardness testing on plated surfaces.
• Maintain accurate records of plating operations and solutions maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance on plating equipment and tools.
• Operating plating equipment and adjusting settings as necessary.
• Inspecting hydraulic components before and after plating.
• Mixing and replenishing plating solutions.
• Setting up and cleaning workstations and equipment.
• Performing visual and tactile quality checks.
• Recording data on component specifications and plating outcomes.
• Conducting regular equipment checks for optimal performance.

Skills

• 1. Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Experience using hardness testers and thickness gauges.
• Familiarity of automated plating systems.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation.
• Using software for maintenance scheduling and record-keeping.
• Operation of precision measurement instruments like calipers.
• Monitoring and adjusting automated processes via control systems.
• Proficiency in following standard operating procedures and protocols.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Forklift Operator Certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
