We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Shelter Shift Supervisor to lead our shelter operations during designated shifts. Duties
- Supervise shelter staff and volunteers during assigned shifts, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback
- Oversee intake procedures, including data entry, filing, and collection of client information to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Conduct crisis intervention and conflict management to de-escalate tense situations effectively
- Monitor security protocols, including visitor screening and facility safety checks, to maintain a secure environment
- Administer basic first aid and medication as needed while following proper documentation procedures
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in social services, emergency shelters, or related settings
- Strong background in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and behavioral health support
- Experience working with vulnerable populations including children, individuals with addiction issues, or those requiring behavioral management
- Familiarity with intake processes, case management practices, and data collection systems
- Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response protocols in shelter environments
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with residents, staff, community partners, and emergency responders
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while maintaining a positive attitude
