Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. Duties
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Facilitate social interactions and community integration by encouraging participation in recreational activities.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any incidents that may occur.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff to coordinate care.
- Assist with heavy lifting as needed for clients requiring physical support.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of CPR and First Aid certification is advantageous.
- Background in social work, hospice care, nursing home settings, or long-term care is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the clients.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client privacy is maintained.
- A compassionate demeanor and a commitment to enhancing the lives of those you support.
- Must be able to transport client in the community
- Hours needed PRN, overnights 11-8
