Responsible for performing patient food preparation and service, dish room operations, assistance to cook in catering preparation, service or any related task regarding patient, cafeteria, or catering food service.

- Learns policies and procedures of the Food and Nutrition Service Department as it relates to food service workers’ responsibilities.
- Demonstrates the ability to use, clean and maintain all necessary food service equipment.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of food service sanitation and utilizes techniques in handling and serving food.
- Observes and follows all safety precautions.
- Learns and can demonstrate working knowledge of all therapeutic diets and texture modifications.
- Prepares and serves salads, sandwiches, drinks and desserts at meal service within department standards.
- Cleans all stations and work areas.
- Assists with catered functions as needed.
- Demonstrates proficiency with department related competencies.
- Generally, performs all job duties within kitchen, Cafe, and Catering.
