What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator - Meals on Wheels Program position at OPC Social and Activity Center?
POSITION SUMMARY
This position coordinates the volunteer drivers and their schedules for our Meals on Wheels program servicing the Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township communities.
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Schedules existing volunteers for regular assignments, last minute fill-ins and special events.
- Maintains accurate records of volunteer hours and reports.
- Recruits new volunteers as needed, providing assistance and guidance as needed.
- Conducts background checks on all new volunteers for Meals on Wheels program.
- Maintains communications with volunteers for upcoming opportunities.
- Provides customer service to internal and external customers; addresses and resolves customer questions and refers complex inquiries, requests, or complaints to appropriate staff.
- Maintains departmental databases, electronic and paper records and files.
- Maintains OPC staff awareness of volunteers’ functions and roles.
- Assists with the coordination of the Volunteer recognition program and events.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of work experience in customer service or administrative support role.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Possess or obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire, training provided.
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
