Cashier

This is a face-to-face sales role — while the title includes cashiering, the primary focus is engaging customers directly in person, helping them find the right products, and guiding them through their purchase.

About the Role

This position is built around face-to-face sales. You'll spend most of your time on the sales floor engaging customers in person, identifying their needs, and recommending products. You'll also support checkout and light stocking duties as needed. Your goal is to ensure every face-to-face interaction is handled professionally, efficiently, and with a customer-first mindset that drives sales.

What You'll Do

Face-to-Face Customer Sales (Primary Focus)

• Greet and engage customers in person in a friendly and professional manner
• Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products or services through direct, in-person conversation
• Provide accurate information regarding products, pricing, and promotions
• Guide customers through product comparisons and purchasing decisions face to face
• Build strong customer relationships through genuine, face-to-face engagement
• Resolve customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally

Cashiering & Register Duties

• Accurately scan and ring up items using the POS system
• Process payments (cash, card, mobile, gift cards) and handle change correctly
• Process returns, exchanges, and refunds according to store policy
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer and balance it at the start/end of shift

Light Stocking & Floor Support

• Stock, organize, and merchandise products on the sales floor as needed
• Keep the sales floor and checkout area clean, organized, and presentable
• Assist with price checks, item lookups, and coupon/discount application
• Monitor stock levels on the floor and report shortages to the team

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with team members and management to support customer needs
• Share feedback and suggestions to improve the customer sales experience
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities

What We're Looking For

• Excellent verbal communication and in-person interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities
• Comfortable and confident approaching and engaging customers face to face — this is essential to the role
• Ability to handle cash and basic math accurately
• Comfortable using a POS system and learning new software
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and able to stand for extended periods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Previous experience in retail sales, face-to-face customer service, or cashiering is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for motivated candidates.
