Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Overnight Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance during the night. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a strong understanding of the needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities. This role involves ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents while promoting their independence.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including helping with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall health status, ensuring any changes are documented and communicated appropriately.
- Assist with meal preparation and cooking, catering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and ensuring common areas are tidy.
- Support residents with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation, particularly for those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
- Administer medications as prescribed, following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and safety.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a nurturing atmosphere.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving, home health, or assisted living environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and patient observation techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting residents with mobility challenges.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of memory care practices and techniques for supporting individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
