Position Summary: The role of the Field Service Technician is to provide remote technical services to customer owned station personnel, and to respond to emergency calls in an organized, timely, and efficient manner.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct routine maintenance on various operating CNG compressor equipment, including, but not limited to compressors, dryers, pumps, valves, meters, rotating equipment, and various other equipment.
Diagnose and test electrical systems for continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as digital volt/ohm meters.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and instrument components, utilizing equipment manuals, test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a failure and make necessary repairs.
Ensures that all station equipment, including safety devices are functioning properly, and report any equipment failures to supervisor.
Document service actions daily by completing forms, reports, and logs.
Ensures good housekeeping practices of all equipment, tools, work areas and fueling station.
Oversee or assist others on site or over the phone with diagnosis and repairs.
Plan maintenance service & repair projects that include parts & parts ordering, or third-party contractor scheduling.
Conduct audit walk throughs and provide guidance on proper maintenance and housekeeping.
Inspect electrical equipment utilizing thermal imaging equipment and other hand tools.
Ability to establish root cause failure analysis
Conduct catastrophic failure repair and lead major overhaul maintenance.
Perform diagnostics on motors, soft starters, dispensers, dryers, and control systems.
24-hour on-call status required.
Respond to emergency calls and preventative maintenance calls in an organized manner.
Responsible for booking all travel and tracking all expenses.
Qualifications and Skills:
Five plus years of Industrial, Automotive or HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
Three to five years of CNG experience preferred.
HS diploma or equivalent.
Ability to oversee or assist others in diagnosis, testing or repairs.
Coursework in industrial mechanics and/or electricity preferred.
Good communication skills (written and verbal for reporting purposes); attention to detail.
Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office products required.
Must have a current and valid driver’s license, without any restrictions.
Required to travel anywhere from 50% – 100% (depending upon location).
Work Hours:
Standard Monday – Friday; 1st shift (40-hours); hours may fluctuate, based upon customer demand.
24-hours/on-call required.
Salary: $32 – $38/hourly

Position requires physical effort such as that associated with driving a motorized vehicle, using hand tools, and typing on a computer. Position requires moderate lifting (30-60 lbs.), occasional need to walk on irregular surfaces, wrist, and arm movements. Also requires connecting and disconnecting of valves and hoses, gauging instruments, wires, and using the corresponding tools.
