Work Environment
- Work arrangement: In-office in Portsmouth, NH
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard business hours; additional time may be required during month-end close and audit periods
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries (including payroll, accruals, and reclasses)
- Process sales and use tax filings
- Maintain and reconcile prepaid and accrued expense schedules
- Identify, research, and resolve account discrepancies
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits
- Generate financial, statistical, and operational reports
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
- Respond to internal inquiries and resolve issues in a professional, service-oriented manner
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Prior general ledger accounting experience (public accounting or hotel accounting experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
