Position Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to support our construction projects and help maintain a safe and compliant work environment. The Safety Coordinator will assist in enforcing safety policies, conducting site inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing and enforcing company safety policies, procedures, and programs on construction sites.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA/MSHA and company standards.
- Conduct and assist with incident investigations by gathering information, preparing reports, and following up on corrective actions.
- Communicate lessons learned from incidents and/or near miss events for company wide communication.
- Maintain and track safety documentation, including inspection reports, safety meeting records, and training logs.
- Coordinate and deliver safety orientation and training sessions for new employees, subcontractors, and site visitors.
- Participate in job hazard analysis (JHA) and pre-task planning to support safe work practices.
- Act as a key resource for project teams to safely plan and execute work in the field.
- Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that safety equipment is available and in good condition.
- Collaborate with site supervisors, foremen, and trade partners to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Assist in preparing reports for management and regulatory agencies, including OSHA logs and safety performance metrics.
- Stay informed on changes to safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
· Manage and monitor DOT-regulated employees, including Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holders, in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
· Oversee driver qualification files (DQF), ensuring completeness and accuracy for all required documentation.
· Ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS), Electronic Logging Devices (ELD), drug & alcohol testing, and vehicle inspections.
· Coordinate pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.
· Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure adherence to DOT safety requirements.
· Monitor and track DOT violations, citations, and crash data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, or related field is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in construction safety or a similar role.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local safety regulations, especially OSHA/MSHA standards.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic safety software or reporting tools.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and navigate active construction sites.
Work Environment:
- Field-based role requiring regular presence on construction sites.
- Exposure to outdoor elements, noise, dust, and physical hazards.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
